Deputy News Editor and Senior Producer

Wellington Geevon-Smith is the News Editor and Senior Producer. He is responsible for the daily news bulletin. He coordinates the activities of the Monrovia based journalists. He also access major on-line news agencies in the sub-region, Africa and the rest of the world. Along with the Website Editor, Wellington updates STAR radio on line news bulletin on the hourly basis or as the news filters in. Wellington also produces Special features with visiting guests and prominent people. It can be recalled the Wellington conducted an interview with U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice in January 2006 during the occasion of the inauguration of Liberia’s first female president. He was the only Liberia journalist afforded this landmark opportunity. Wellington also presents and produces “Media Watch”.

Frequencies

FM frequency 104 in Monrovia and affiliated community radio stations throughout Liberia. Short wave broadcasts 9525 kHz at 7:00 to 8:00 a.m will change on November 10, 2008 to 11875 kHz.
