Government to purchase perishable at agriculture fair Print E-mail

Government says it has allotted a special budget to purchase all perishable goods that would put on display by local farmers at a Agriculture Fair to commence in Voinjama, Lofa County.


The National Agriculture Fair opens on Saturday in Voinjama, Lofa County with series of activities.
 

Although the amount was not disclosed, government said the money was secured from donors.
 

Technical facilities newly constructed in the county would be dedicated during the Agriculture Fair.
 

Agriculture Minister Dr. Chris Toe said FAO Director General Jacque Diouf would form part of the fair.
 

Dr. Toe said the FAO Boss would be joined by the Agriculture Ministers of the Mano River Union countries.
 

Also speaking, Information Minister Lawrence Bropleh said the President Sirleaf would be honored with the FAO’s Prestigious Ceres Medal Award.
