A German Parliamentarian says Germany is willing to assist in the development of Liberia’s tourism industry.

An Information Ministry release quotes Madam Brunhilde Irber as saying Germany also wants to help build the capacity of the Liberian media.

Madam Irber spoke when she paid a courtesy call on Deputy Information Minister Gabriel Williams.

She praised government for the level of progress in Liberia following years of civil strive.

Madam Irber is part of a fact finding delegation from the Association of European Parliamentarian.

For his part, Deputy Minister Williams said Liberia is a potential haven for tourism, but lacks the infrastructure to promote the industry.

He said Liberians look forward to any support to help develop and promote the country’s tourism and media industries.
