Liberia
on Sunday secured a trophy form the just ended Zone III handball tournament in Lome, Togo.


The Lone Star secured the Fair Play silverware in the tournament that brought together eight West African countries.


According to the President of the local Handball body, Liberia won the trophy due to their determination and respectable attitude shown through out the tournament.


Mr. Mason Saweler said although the country lost all of their 5 matches during the festival, they were highly praised by organizers for the determination shown to play.


The trophy is the first ever to be won by the newly organized National handball team.


The tournament ran from the 14th to the 20th of April.
Meanwhile, the National Handball Team arrived in the country on Sunday.
