Final argument of the financial crimes trial involving five former transitional government officials takes place this morning in criminal Court C.

They include former NTGL head Gyude Bryant, Representative Edwin Snowe, Senator Richard Divine, Siaka Sheriff and Andy Quamie.

They are accused of stealing nearly one million US Dollars from the LPRC during the transitional regime.

Government claimed the men did so through 21 dubious transactions.

The men dismissed the claims and described their trial as a witch hunt.

They also said the current LPRC Management has committed the same act for which they are being tried.

Former head of state Gyude Bryant admitted authorizing the transactions for the sake of peace and national security.

If found guilty, they could serve a jail term of up to ten years, depending on the judge’s discretion, and pay back the amount
