The Truth and Reconciliation Commission has formally presented its final edited report to the National Legislature.

The submission ceremony was performed Monday by the Executive Secretary of the TRC, Nathaniel Quabo.

Mr. Quabo termed the presentation as a closure to the TRC process and a step towards reconciliation.

He told reporters the TRC hopes the Legislature will treat its report diligently by putting aside their personal interests.

The TRC Executive Secretary said the Legislature must ensure that the Executive branch of government implement the TRC final report.

The TRC and the Legislature have been locked in a dispute as to the authority of the august body to take actions on the report.

During the ceremony the Chief Clerk of the House James Kabba and a staffer of the Senate’s Secretariat Nathaniel Moses promised to submit the report to the leaderships of the Legislature.

Our Legislative reporter says upon the resumption of Legislative session next Month, lawmakers will open discussion on the TRC report.
