The Vice Principal at the Jarwudee Junior High School in Grand Gedeh County has called on LACE to drop students recruited for its cash for work program.

Mr. William Karn said the recruitment of students has left the junior high session of the school virtually empty.

Mr. Karn said the situation is adversely affecting the education system of the county.

Mr. Karn told Star Radio he has reported the situation to Gbarzon District Superintendent Henry Zonweah for prompt action.

Meanwhile, the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment says it is not aware of students leaving classes for the cash for work program.

The Executive Director of LACE, Ramses Kumbuyah, said the cash for work program is for vulnerable people and not students, teachers or health workers.

Mr. Kumbuyah called on local authorities and school officials to identify the students, assuring they would be dropped from the program immediately.
