The Labor Ministry has dismissed one of its inspectors Laurence Sawyer for dishonesty.

A Labor Ministry release says Inspector Laurence Sawyer allegedly received bribe from the Exclusive Store to suppress the publication of malpractices at the entity.

According to the release Sawyer who had earlier accompanied the Minister for an inspection at the store, went back along with two journalists and collected the bribe

According to the release, when Inspector Sawyer was questioned, he claimed he had gone to use the rest room at the store but did not take bribe.

But the ministry said, Sawyer did not have any reason to go back to the store to use the bathroom when there are eighteen rest rooms at the labor ministry.

The release further explained that the dismissal was in line with chapter 4, section 2, of the Civil Service Standing Order.
