Education Ministry signs US$ 8.4 million work plan for 2010 Print E-mail

The Education Ministry and   the United Nations Children Education Fund Monday signed an eight point four million United States dollars work plan for 2010.


Education Minister Dr. Joseph Korto said ministry and UNICEF usually signed a work plan that identifies a number of projects for implementation at the start of each year.


Dr. Korto said projects identified include the construction of more schools across Liberia, production of school furniture and the enhancement of girl’s education policy.


At the same time, the Education Ministry and CESLY have signed a memorandum of understanding.


CESLY is the Core Education Skills for Liberian Youth.


The MOU involves the effective implementation of the accelerated learning program and the designing of a non-forma Literacy and numeracy curriculum.


The curriculum is to address the educational need of over aged and out of school youth.         


Education Minister Dr. Joseph Korto signed for the ministry while CESLY’s Program Director Dr. Martin Schulmum signed for his entity.
