Regional Watch for Human Rights has warned that Liberia’s peace would continue to remain fragile if the issues of impunity are not urgently addressed.

The group’s Regional Director Thompson Ade-bayor believes impunity was on the increase in post-conflict Liberia.

According to him, the situation was undermining the democratic process and the stability of the state.

He cited the Voinjama incident which left at least four persons dead   and the burning to death of a uniformed police officer as products of injustice.

The Human Rights activist told Star Radio most Liberians have lost confidence in the justice system and think they could seek redress through other means.

He also named the   gruesome murders of Little Vewu Kesselly and Officer Zubah Mulbah in Zorzor amongst other issues as cases in point.

The Regional Watch for Human Rights Director called on government to prosecute suspects arrested in connection with the Lofa incident to serve as a deterrent.

Meanwhile, Regional Watch for Human Rights says it has again written the Justice Ministry drawing its attention to the death of 13-year old Vewu Kesselly .

Little Vewu Kessely was murdered on February 11, 2008 in Kpasakisia Town in Zorzor District.

In the letter, the group urged Justice Minister Christiana Tarr to ensure that the prime suspect Senator Sumo Kupee and associates are brought to justice.

Senator Sumo Kupee has been repeatedly accused of having a hand in the death of little Vewu Kesselly of Kpasakisia Town, but the senator has denied the claim.
