The House of Representatives has emotionally summoned Defense Minister Brownie Samukai to appear before it on Tuesday-March 23.

The House cited Minister Samukai to clarify what it considers his inflammatory statement against it.

The House claimed Minister Samukai told a local radio that those in government who receive allowances need to divert some of their funds to support the military.

In its votes Thursday, the House said the statement amounts to inciting the military against government workers especially Legislators.

Also, the House said Minister Samukai must clarify a lease agreement the Defense Ministry reached with the GSM Companies, Cellcom and Lone Star Cell.

It said the Defense Minister must state whether he has the authority to enter into a twenty-five thousand US dollars agreement with the Companies outside Legislation.

The emotional decision of the House followed concerns by Representatives Dave Koomey of Monteserrado and Emmanuel Nuquay of Margibi.
