The General Manager of the Cavalla Rubber Plantation has dismissed claims that conditions on the plantation are deplorable.
Mr. Harrison Karnwea told Star Radio the Rubber Planters Association of Liberia has improved conditions on the plantation since it took over.
The Rubber Plantation Task Force mandated the Rubber Planters Association of Liberia to manage the cavalla plantation until an investor could take over.
GAAWUL President Lavelaku Stanley told journalists on Monday the RPAL was only engaged in the purchase of rubber and not improving conditions on the plantation.
Mr. Karnwea described Mr. Stanley’s claims as an attack on the Rubber Planters Association.
He also said the twenty five million dollar investment package announced by GAAWUL is bogus.
He said there was no such contract being negotiated between the government and the Salala Rubber Investment Limited.
Mr. Karnwea clarified that only government had the right to announce concession and not GAAWUL.
