Over five hundred Liberian refugees say they are stranded in Nigeria and called on the Liberian government to help them return home.

A spokesman of the refugees said the Nigerian government and the UN Refugees Agency have closed down all the health and educational facilities in their camp.

Mr. Dokie Boyah said their camp had been closed since December 2005.

According to him, there was a general lack of food and medicine among the refugees.

Mr. Boyah alleged they were not getting any assistance from the UNHCR and the Nigerian government anymore.

He said many children were among the stranded refugees in Nigeria.
