The eleventh battalion of the UNMIL Nigerian contingent Friday commissioned a new clinic in Charlesville, Margibi County.

According to the Commander of NIBATT eleven Lt. Col. John Enenche, the construction project costs a little over fourteen thousand US dollars.

Lt. Col. Enenche said each member of the eight hundred fifty engineering battalion contributed ten dollars each towards the project.

Charlesville Township Commissioner Emmanuel Fartumay said the construction of the clinic has brought relief to the people of Charlesville.

UNMIL Humanitarian Coordinator Jordan Ryan said the UN system would provide equipment and medical supplies to the clinic under its quick impact program.

Health Minister Dr. Walter Gwenegale said government would deploy doctors and nurses at the clinic to keep it functional.

People of Charlesville have had no access to medical facility for years, a situation that has caused them to travel long distances for treatment.
