About one hundred child soldiers and war-affected children in Grand Bassa County have begun a nine-month skill-training program in various disciplines.

The program is under the auspices of the Brighter Future Children Rescue Center in Lower Harlandsville.

The Executive Director of the center said the trainees would be taught skills in the areas of soap making, tie and dye, computer literacy, typing, pastry and graphic arts.

Mr. Frido Kinkolenge said the program is geared toward buttressing government’s efforts in educating its citizens for a better future.

The trainers recently completed a two-day capacity building workshop on how to work with trainees to obtain the necessary skills.
