The Bong Varsity Student Association at the University of Liberia has condemned the Lower House decision to hold an election for a new speaker.

The group in a release said the decision violates the constitution of Liberia and the House Standing rules.

The group has advised plenary to reverse its decision to avoid public ridicule and what it called another constitutional whip from the Supreme Court.

The group said it would seek further clarification and explanation from the Supreme Court on article forty-nine of the constitution.
