The Civil Society Pro-Poor Health Coalition of Liberia has called on G-8 countries meeting in Germany to consider support to Liberia’s health sector.

In a letter to the G-8 summit the Civil Society group highlighted the country’s appalling heath condition including worsening child mortality rate.

The civil society group noted that Liberia was among the world’s poorest health nations with maternal mortality rate terribly high.

According to a release, the civil society coalition has called on stakeholders to join the advocacy for the abolition of user fees in the discharge of medical services.
