The Deputy Minister for Social Welfare at the Ministry of Health says reports of ill treatment at the Liberia Children and Abound Orphanage have been forwarded to the Justice Ministry.

Madam Vivian Cherue told Star Radio the actions were criminal in nature and would be handled by the Justice Ministry.

She also said her Ministry is working with the Justice Ministry to effect the closure of the orphanage and remove the children.

Madam Cherue said some of the children would be placed in other orphanages while others would be reunified with their families.

She said the exercise would begin when the children are on vacation from school.
