Tension remains   high at the Free Port of Monrovia following a riot there early this morning.

Our reporter at the scene said the main entrance of the port is being heavily guarded by armed troops of the Ghanaian contingent of UNMIL.

Riot police from the International form police are also said to be putting up stiff defensive at the port.

Unconfirmed report says the riot broke out as a result of fuel theft in the port area but that has not been independently confirmed.

On many occasions armed troops and the UN form police prevented reinforcements of the Liberia National Police from entering the port.

Our reporter said many people with bloodstain were seen been rushed out of the port area.
