The former Defense spokesman of the defunct National Patriotic Front of Liberia Tom Woewiyou says he believes the detained former Transitional Speaker was in league with the government to dump him.
Mr. Woewiyou told Star Radio via telephone from the United States the information released about George Koukou’s alleged coup plot was in national interest.
The former NPFL spokesman said he believed Mr. Koukou had the capacity to subvert the UP-led government.
He said prior to the release of the alleged subversive plans, Mr. Koukou had direct telephone conversions with him.
Mr. Wouwiyou said, in one of the emails, Mr.Koukou allegedly asked him to select the position he wanted in the future government.
Mr. Wouwiyou believes there was no need to subvert the country at this time because Liberia was getting full international attention.
Mr. Koukou and former Executive Mansion Commanding General Charles Julu are being held on charges of subversive activities.
