The House of Representatives says it stands by its earlier decision to investigate the bribery allegation against some of its members.

Deputy House Speaker Tokpa Mulbah says the committee set up to investigate the allegation would make its finding public when completed.

The Deputy Speaker said if the need arises, an independent probe would be conducted later.

He told reporters the decision was in line with the rules and regulations guiding the first branch of government.

On a personal note, Mr. Mulbah said he would welcome an independent probe in the matter in order to set an example for the people they represent.
