Former Transitional Chairman Gyude Bryant has apologized to Criminal Court ‘C’ for disrespecting its precepts.

The Court imprisoned Mr. Bryant on Friday for refusing a notice of assignment to appear in court.

He was released on Saturday after he signed the notice of assignment from the Court at the Monrovia Central Prison.

The former chairman apologized for the disrespect when he appeared before the court this morning without a lawyer.

He has been given seventy two hours to find a new defense team.

The former chairman two weeks ago dismissed his entire defense team on grounds that they would not adequately represent him due to their suspended suspension imposed by the Supreme Court.

Mr. Bryant is facing trial for allegedly causing financial loss to the state in the tune of US$1.4m during his rule.
