The retired army Colonel on trial for allegedly planning to overthrow the government today took the stand with more revelations.
Colonel Andrew Dorbor told the jammed packed courtroom that government gave him the list of thirty-one Liberians to be implicated.
According to Colonel Dorbor, the list given him by the National Security Agency included the names of opposition leaders, Ambassador George Weah and Cllr. Varney Sherman and Dr. H. Boima Fahnbulleh, National Security Advisor to President Sirleaf.
Other names are opposition politician Cllr. Charles Brumskine, former rebel leader and now Senator, Prince Y. Johnson, former LURD Commander Joe Wylie and Edward Slangar, a former army officer.
He further alleged the NSA gave him the names of former Speaker Edwin Snowe, long-time politician Togba Nah Tipoteh and former ULIMO leader Alhaji Kromah.
Colonel Dorbor told the court his conscience could not serve him right to lie on the names the NSA allegedly gave him to implicate.
The retired army officer had earlier informed the court the coup plot announced was planned by the government and he was allegedly forcibly recruited to implicate the names given him.
Following his revelation, state prosecution nullified Dorbor’s state-witness status and formally charged him as co-conspirator in the alleged plot.
Colonel Dorbor is still on the stand and is being cross-examined by state prosecution.
Details will follow.
