The Economic Sabotage case involving former transitional Chairman Gyude Bryant has taken a dramatic turn at the Temple of Justice.
Our Judicial correspondent said the state asked the Criminal Court ‘C’ for postponement of the case.
The state, in a letter from the Ministry of Justice, requested the court to postpone the case to January.
The state said the continuance request is to enable it prepare its prosecution and also allow Mr. Bryant constitute his defense team.
The state’s request followed Mr. Bryant’s introductory statement that he has not constituted a new defense team.
According to our correspondent, Mr. Bryant did not object the state’s request and the court postponed the case to January 2, 2008.
Also, Star Radio gathered President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf had been meeting with Mr. Bryant at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Presidential Press Secretary Cyrus Wleh-Badio confirmed the meeting between President and Mr. Bryant but could not disclose what was discussed.
Mr. Wleh-Badio however, said Mr. Bryant would also meet Justice Minister Philip A.Z. Banks.
