Opposition Liberty Party breaks silence on plot "revelation" Print E-mail

The opposition Liberty Party has officially reacted to the revelation by Colonel Andrew Dorbor, linking its Political Leader to a coup plot.


The party said Col. Dorbor’s revelation only confirms what it knew the government has been planning for nearly a year.
 

Col. Dorbor who is facing a treason trial called the names of several personalities in connection with the alleged coup plot.
 

According to Col. Dorbor, the government allegedly wanted him to implicate the personalities including Cllr. Charles Brumskine.
 

In a statement issued in Monrovia, the Liberty Party recalled former Justice Minister Frances Johnson-Morris announced a coup to over throw the government.
 

The party said Cllr. Johnson-Morris told the world opposition politicians were in a conspiracy with former AFL soldiers to overthrow the government.
 

The Liberty Party argued that Col. Dorbor’s revelation is a confession of what the former Justice Minister alluded to.
 

Following a mass meeting Friday, the Liberty Party urged the government to admit that the plan is its version of “the plot that never was.”
 

The opposition party however, complained to the international community that the government undermining the peace in which it heavily invested.
