Jurors have found retired General Charles Julu and Andrew Dorbor guilty of treason.

The jurors came down with the verdict Tuesday in Criminal Court ‘A’ at the Temple of Justice.

Chaos erupted after a defense lawyer excepted to the verdict and accused the government of bribing the jurors.

Cllr. Dempster Brown asked the court to detain the jurors until an investigation is conducted and the contrary is proven.

The audience in the court started shouting out the jurors and calling them rogues.

Judge Charles Williams described the allegation of bribery as grave.

He said the allegation came up earlier but decided to leave the jurors with their conscience.

The Judge ordered journalists to take pictures of the jurors, something which sparked more shouting in the court room disrupting the entire process.

Security officers were sent in to put the situation under control.

Retired General Charles Julu and Colonel Andrew Dorbor along with former transitional Speaker George Koukou were arrested mid-2007 for planning to overthrow the government.

The alleged planned coup plot got to the public after former Grand Bassa Senator Thomas Woewiyu reported an email allegedly sent to him by Mr. Koukou.

Mr. Woewiyu told Star Radio from the onset that the email message, which suggested subversion, was a scheme between Koukou and President Sirleaf to incriminate him (Woewiyu).

The Executive Mansion dismissed the claim and said the President cannot be part of a scheme to cause confusion in the country.
