The Truth and Reconciliation Commission says it would eventually subpoena Senator Prince Johnson if he fails to appear before it.

The commission said it wants to ensure that Senator Johnson show cause why he killed President Samuel Kanyon Doe.

The Director for Media and Outreach at the TRC told Star Radio Prince Johnson has an obligation to the Liberian people to say why he killed their President.

Mr. Richmond Anderson said now that a Magistrate has been appointed at the TRC, its subpoena powers would be fully exercised.

According to Mr. Anderson, Senator Johnson would be invited regardless of his status in the society.

He however, said the invitation to the former war-lord would be honorably channeled.

Prince Johnson headed the now defunct Independent National Patriotic Front of Liberia, a break-away faction of Charles Taylor’s former NPFL rebel group.

Forces loyal to General Johnson captured President Doe on September 9, 1990 and murdered him by mutilating his body.
