Transport Minister-designate Jackson Doe has described as very bad the transport situation in the country.

Mr. Doe told Star Radio government is committed to ensuring that the movement of citizens is not constrained by the continuous transport crisis.

He said government would also extend its transport programs to the fifteen political sub-divisions of the country.

Mr. Doe also said following his confirmation as Minister of Transport, he would ensure that the activities of motorcycle riders are restricted.

The Transport Minister-designate observed motorcycle riding accounts for some of the most serious accidents around the country.

Mr. Doe said to curb the wave of accidents he would ensure, if confirmed by the Senate, that motorcycle riders operate only at intersections.

He warned motorcycles would not be allowed to ply the main routes due to safety concerns.
