The Presidential motorcade of Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf was this morning caught up in traffic for nearly five minutes.

The incident took place in the Vai town community, when traffic police there seemed unable to clear the road to ensure the required right of way.

Security officials from the convoy, who looked quite embarrassed were seen running about trying to put the situation under control.

Nigerian UNMIL officers who speedily got off their vehicles joined the Liberian Police officers and cleared a lane for the convoy to go through.

This is the second time; the motorcade of President Sirleaf has been caught up in traffic.

In April last year the presidential convoy was caught up in traffic for about fifteen minutes, while enroute to the commencement exercise of the University of Liberia.

Observers believed the situation has serious security implication and should be avoided at all time.
