Liberia has moved seven places above in FIFA’s monthly football ranking.

The world football body ranked Liberia at 138 in the world for the month.

In February, Liberia was ranked at 145 among football nations on the globe.

The improvement in the country’s match ranking can be attributed to the friendly match with Sudan early march.

Liberia beat Sudan 2-0 in the country’s first ever-international friendly for more than two years.

The country suffered a miserable drop in the month FIFA rankings due to its failure to take part in several regional competitions both at senior and junior levels.

The March ranking has also placed Liberia at the 39th position on the continent.

Liberia was at the 41st place on the continent when the last ranking was released.

Football followers believe with the arrival of the German Antoine Hey and the Lone Star engagement in friendly and qualifying round games the country could go further up the ladder.
