Global Giving is an on-line marketplace which allows people to donate to international projects that appeal to their interests and STAR radio is now a Global Giving project! This means that our American supporters may now make tax-deductible donations to STAR.
Humanity United gives STAR radio generous grant
One of our top goals this year at STAR radio is to
broaden our base of support to include new types of donor and partners from
different countries. This was achieved
this year when Global Giving (www.globalgiving.com)
agreed to our request to include STAR Radio on its internet platform which
allows individuals to fund international
projects of interest, and for Americans to donate on a tax-free basis. Since we posted a project description on
Global Giving four months ago, STAR Radio has earned a total of $3,000 donated
by a dozen individuals. We learned recently that Humanity United, a
grant-making organization based in California, will donate $130,000 to STAR
Radio in Liberia through the Global Giving site. Many
thanks to Global Giving and Humanity United for their generous support to STAR
radio!
German Agro distributes insecticide nets

The German Agro in collaboration with the international NGO, MERCI has begun the distribution insecticide mosquito nets in Maryland County.
The Program Coordinator German Agro said the distribution is intended to prevent the killer disease, malaria.
About sixty-six thousand insecticide mosquito nets are being distributed to households.
Mr. David Halowanga said the sixty-six thousand nets are part of the three hundred thousand mosquito nets donated to Liberia by the German government.
The distribution is on-going in Harper District including Harper City, Grand Cavalla, Pelebo and surrounding areas.
According to him, the distribution is targeting about eighteen thousand households.
Mr. Halowanga called on the public to expose anyone caught selling the mosquito nets.
