The General Atlas Workers Union of Liberia has begun negotiation with the management of the Cavalla Rubber Plantation in Maryland County.
An official of GAWUL, Alfred Summerville said their mission is to end the strike action b the angry worker and better present their grievances through dialogue.
It can be recalled in early May, more than one thousand five hundred workers initiated a go-slow action on the plantation in Gedetarbo in Pleebo District.
The workers Union President, Augustine Saydeh said the action was due to the management’s refusal to respond to their grievances.
Mr. Saydeh said the grievances include housing and medical facilities, daily wages and leave and death benefits.
However, the GAWUL official said the grievances are legitimate but the strike was illegal.
For his part, the General Manager John Barkemene requested a quick dialogue to avoid the company from loosing more money.
