The Civil Servants Association has called on the National Elections Commission and political parties in the country to tolerate each other’s views.
The association said there has been what it called animosities between the NEC and opposition political parties since the 2005 General and Presidential Elections.
A statement issued by the association said utterances between NEC and political parties in recent time have the propensity to arouse conflict.
It said the utterances often result to what the association termed unhealthy rivalries, something which could undermine peace, security and democratic governance.
The statement also urged the National Election Commission to initiate measures aimed at ensuring improved relationship with political parties.
It wants NEC do everything possible to discharge its duties in a manner that guarantees its neutrality so that elections outcomes can be considered credible.
