A Police Inspector has denied claimed by the Public Works Ministry that he obstructed a demolition exercise on the Pipeline Road in Paynesville.

Inspector David Saye said there is an old age land dispute between him and one Madam Yassah Zubah but he has never obstructed government’s development.

He told Star radio the land quarrel has been between them since two years ago and Madam Zubah has been taking him to the Public Works Minister.

Mr. Saye said he has taken the matter to the Police authorities and alleged Madam Zubah was in the constant habit of bringing people to demolish his house.

However, the Public Works Ministry said the structure will at all cost be demolished as long as it is built in violation of the zoning law of the state.

The ministry said it was very regrettable for Inspector Saye to exhibit such attitude after he had asked the ministry during earlier demolition exercises for time to relocate his family.
