Global Giving is an on-line marketplace which allows people to donate to international projects that appeal to their interests and STAR radio is now a Global Giving project! This means that our American supporters may now make tax-deductible donations to STAR.
Humanity United gives STAR radio generous grant
One of our top goals this year at STAR radio is to
broaden our base of support to include new types of donor and partners from
different countries. This was achieved
this year when Global Giving (www.globalgiving.com)
agreed to our request to include STAR Radio on its internet platform which
allows individuals to fund international
projects of interest, and for Americans to donate on a tax-free basis. Since we posted a project description on
Global Giving four months ago, STAR Radio has earned a total of $3,000 donated
by a dozen individuals. We learned recently that Humanity United, a
grant-making organization based in California, will donate $130,000 to STAR
Radio in Liberia through the Global Giving site. Many
thanks to Global Giving and Humanity United for their generous support to STAR
radio!

Former Maritime Commissioner Benoni Urey has termed as lies the testimony of former President Moses Blah before the Special Court sitting in The Hague.
Mr. Blah told the Special Court Mr. Urey told him that he Urey gave Mr. Taylor four years in advance, revenues collected from the maritime registry.
Mr. Urey told Star Radio Mr. Blah has no knowledge of how the maritime program works but was being paid to indict the whole country by giving information that are not true.
The former maritime commissioner clarifies that revenues collected from the maritime program do not come to the Maritime Bureau but the Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Urey threatened to take Mr. Blah to court upon his return to prove his allegation because Mr. Blah has allegedly committed lot of atrocities in this country with impunity.
He threatened to take Mr. Blah to court upon his return to prove the allegation against him.
Mr. Urey also observed that invisible hands are further dividing Liberians by putting little money in their pockets to destroy each other.
He appealed to Liberians to stop listening to people whose intention is to divide citizens of the country by demonizing other Liberians.
Meanwhile, the Special Court trying former President Charles Taylor in The Hague on Friday granted a defense motion for an early adjournment of the court.
The Defense motion followed the admitting into evidence of an autopsy report produced by the prosecution.
The Defense team requested time to study the autopsy report before beginning its cross examination on Monday.
A Liberian journalist covering the trial said the Defense described the report as the basis of the testimony of former President Moses Blah.
The Prosecution has ended its direct examination of Mr. Blah focusing on his days in Liberia after Taylor went into exile.
Mr. Blah again spoke of threats he received prior to his arrival at The Hague to testify in the trail.
