A high-power government delegation headed by Internal Affairs Minister Ambullai Johnson has left Monrovia for Maryland County.

Other members of the delegation are Justice Minister Philip Banks, Senator John Ballout of Maryland and security officials.

The government’s delegation is to ascertain first-hand information on the situation in the southeastern county following a violent land dispute.

Two persons were reportedly killed in the conflict, sparking protest action from the people of Wetchoken where the victims hailed.
