Liberia
has suffered a humiliating defeat in the joint 2010 nations and world up qualifier.

The Taranga Lions of Senegal buried the Lone Star of Liberia 3-1 in a classic fashion on Saturday evening in Dakar.

The Senegalese took the lead in the 8th minute through a weak header from Idrissa Sonko.
It was followed by goals from El-Hadji Diouf and Henri Kamara.

Dioh William scored the consolation goal for Liberia in the 89th minute although he had what television replay showed was a clear goal disallowed.

Analysts and fans who saw the game on television placed the blame squarely on goalkeeper Melvin King for yet another poor showing.

Lone Star captain Murphy Nagbe broke his left foot during the encounter.

The defeat puts Liberia out of contention for a place in the second qualifying rounds of the 2010 football events.
