Liberia
has been endorsed to serve on the Administrative Council of the Pan African Postal Union.

The Administrative Council is the second highest decision making body of the APU.

Post and Telecommunications Minister Jeremiah Sulunteh said Liberia has also retained its voting rights with the continental postal body.

The retaining of the country’s voting rights followed the fifty percent waiver of Liberia’s debt by the organization.

Minister Sulunteh said Liberia now owes the postal body over one hundred fifty thousand U. S. Dollars, which is to be paid in ten years.

The PAPU Extra-ordinary Conference is held every four years to review its activities and progress made by Postal Administrations in Africa.
