Several communities in Monrovia and its environs were flooded as a result of heavy rains on Sunday.

Reports say the floodwaters entered several homes, destroyed properties and dislodged people.

In the Old Road area adults were seen walking in water up to their knees.

Many people attribute the situation to poor drainage system.

There are also concerns that the flooding could lead to the outbreak of water-born diseases.
