Football academy for Liberia soon Print E-mail

Goodwill Sports Ambassador Gary Allsoph says he wants to construct a football academy in Liberia.
 

Mr.Allsoph put the cost of construction at one million United States Dollars.
 

He told Star Radio he has submitted the plan of the academy to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
 

The goodwill sport ambassador said he would bring coaches from England to train young people from age 11 on the academy.
 

Mr.Allsoph said he was planning to construct the academy in order to ensure the future of young Liberian football players.
 

He disclosed the academy will also host young athletes from other sporting disciplines.
 

At the same time, Mr.Allsoph says he has established a relationship between Liberia and the English Football Association.
 

Mr.Allsoph said the relationship will see the English FA provide support to Liberia over a period of time.
 

The former Aston Villa player disclosed as a result of the relationship Liberia is to benefit from three million dollars worth of football shirts.
