The Liberia Football Association premiership league got up to a poor start on Sunday around the country.
The LFA arranged three matches for the opening day but only one game was played.

Two of the games were boycotted by teams who are protesting to start the league.

The only match that was played took place in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County between Mighty Barrolle and USA Invaders.

USA Invaders defeated Mighty Barrolle 1-0 at the Doris Williams Stadium.

LFA Deputy Secretary General Benedict Yarsiah told Star Radio teams that did no show up for the games forfeited the points.

Invincible Eleven were scheduled to play Mighty Blue Angels but the later did not turnout.

FC
AK Liberia secured three points after NPA Anchors failed to show up.

Meanwhile, the President of premiership side Gedi& Sons says his club will not play any match in the LFA League.

Mr. Patrick Garwo said until the LFA can show respect for clubs his team would not kick any ball in the league.

Mr.Garow told Star Radio he supports the decision of clubs who are calling for a boycott of the league.

About nine out of the 14 premiership clubs have requested the LFA postpone the league until renovation works on the Antoinette Tubman Stadium is completed.
