Star Radio was selected by a panel of eminent individuals headed by Madam Meg Riggs, head of the Public Diplomacy Section at the United States Embassy in Monrovia.

The PUL, as a means of encouraging professionalism in the media industry, awarded the station with a modern double-deck tape-recorder player and a pack of CDs.

Two journalists of Star Radio were also awarded for their outstanding performances during the year.

The panel named Vivian Gartayn, Best Newscaster and Bruce Boweh, Judicial Reporter of the year.

The PUL gave Vivian a modern double-deck tape-recorder player and presented to Bruce a mini-Tiger generator.

The panel also named ‘The Analyst' newspaper Best Newspaper of the year while Real TV was crowned Best Television of the year.

The award ceremony was held on May 3rd at the Golden Beach Restaurant in Sinkor.

STAR radio is broadcasting on 104 FM & 3.960 MHz (mega-hertz) Short Wave in the 75-meter Band. For now test transmission on the Short Wave runs from 5 to 9 in the morning and 6-9 in the evening.
