Two Liberian players were on the score sheet when their clubs faced each other on Saturday in the United Soccer League of the USA and Canada.

Melvin Tarley and John Menyongar scored for their respective clubs in what was described as an exciting showdown.

Menyongar’s club Rochester Rhinos beat the Minnesota Thunder 3 goals to 1 at their home stadium.

In the 40th minute, the Thunder defense broke down and allowed their first goal of the game.
John Menyongar intercepted a misdirected pass from a Thunder defender and had a one on one with the opposing goalkeeper and placed the ball under his arm for the first goal.

Rochester doubled their lead with two others goals during the second half.

Minnesota Thunder scored their consolation goal late in the match from the leg of one of their top scorers, Liberian international Melvin Tarley.

According to the club’s website,
the goal came in the 88th minute after Tarley finished up a pass from teammate Brian Cvilikas.
