The House Judiciary Committee has cited Magistrate Peter Gonsahn of the Bensonville Magisterial Court.

Although the letter failed to state the reason for Magistrate Gonsahn’s appearance, it is believed to be in connection with his Bill of Impeachment against Chief Justice Johnnie Lewis.

The Bensonville Magistrate wants Justice Lewis impeached for illegally arresting and detaining him in August 2007, along with a bailiff.

Gonsahn alleged Justice Lewis ordered his arrest after he imposed a US$25 fine on a woman.

In the Bill of Impeachment, Gonsahn also accused the Chief Justice of what he called discriminative corruption within the Judiciary.

According to Magistrate Gonsahn, the acts violate the Rules of Court, the Judicial Cannon and the Constitution.
