Government says it has no reservation about the new security measure for detainees of the International Criminal Court including former President Charles Taylor.

Information Minister Laurence Bropleh believes the security measure meets international standards.

Dr. Bropleh told Star Radio if it were not so, there would have been international outburst about the situation by now.

Under the new security measure, Mr. Taylor is taken to and from court with a cord tied around his waist, with a security holding the end from a distance.

Minister Bropleh says though, the measure may seem humiliating government could not dictate to the ICC.

He told Star Radio government is a signatory to international conventions and would abide by whatever the ICC does.

Dr. Bropleh says government would only step in when the measures are harmful to Mr. Taylor, a situation he feels does not exist in this case.
