The Medical Director of the St. Francis Hospital in Rivercess County has called for an expansion of the hospital to meet the health needs of the county.

Dr. Malano Saa said the hospital was too small and does not meet international standards.

Dr. Saa said the hospital does not have an ambulance and lacks sufficient   beds to accommodate the influx of patients in the county.

According to Dr. Saa the hospital lacks a Surgical Department, a Director’s office and a Morgue to keep expired patients.

He disclosed the hospital has only two Physician Assistants and one laboratory Technician, a number he said was too small for such a hospital.
