Police in Bong County have charged a 49 year old man with aggravated assault.
John Touh, a resident of the Rubber Factory Community in Gbarnga was arrested Sunday for chopping his pregnant wife and 12 year old daughter with a cutlass.
According to our correspondent, Mr. Touh chopped Mennah and her mother Doris Cooper during the early hours of the morning while they were in bed.
Our correspondent said Mr. Touh chopped his wife on her left arm and head while his daughter was chopped in the palm.
Our correspondent said both Mennah and her mother are presently admitted at the Phebe hospital.
When contacted Mr. Touh admitted to the commission of the crime but said he is mentally ill.
Mr. Touh said he was under the influence of a powerful evil spirit so he could not remember what made him chop his wife and daughter.
He has been sent to the Gbarnga magisterial court for prosecution.
