Former Liberian President Charles Taylor Tuesday appeared in Court despite his threat on Monday not to show-up in his ongoing trial.
Mr. Taylor on Monday told his lawyers enough was enough and that he would not submit himself to two new security measures instituted by Dutch Prison authorities.
Under the measures, Mr. Taylor is being cord to and fro his prison to Court, with two Dutch prison guards holding the rope around his waist.
The lawyer of Charles Taylor said Mr. Taylor is appearing in Court despite being resolute against the new security measures.
QC Courtenay Griffiths said he believes Mr. Taylor was protesting the measures because of the history of the old slave trade in Africa.
QC Griffiths said this sort of security measures touches the nerves of black persons, which white people may not have.
The lead Counsel of Mr. Taylor said a written submission is being drafted for onward presentation to the President of the Special Court for Sierra Leone.
He said the submission would call for an immediate removal of the measures else Mr. Taylor would not appear in Court any longer.
