The leader of the disbanded rebel group Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy would this morning take the stand at the ongoing TRC hearings in Monrovia.

Mr. Sekou Damate Konneh would testify his role and knowledge of the Liberian civil war from 1979 to 2003.

Mr. Konneh controlled the LURD rebel group that waged a military rebellion against detained former President Charles Taylor.

The LURD rebel incursion started in April 1999 from the Northern region of Lofa County.

Rebel forces of Mr. Sekou Damate Konneh succeeded in capturing Tubmanburg in Bomi County where they used as their base and staged several attacks on Monrovia.

It is believed that the rebel forces of Mr. Konneh were behind the released of several rocket grenades on the Grey Stone Compound in Monrovia.

As a result of these grenade attacks, several innocent civilians were killed and wounded.

During the war to remove Charles Taylor from power Mr. Konneh’s rebel group was commonly called more mortar by fleeing and frightened civilians.

Mr. Konneh has repeatedly said his war against Charles Taylor was intended to liberate Liberians from the hands of terror.

“Intended to liberate Liberians from the hands of terror.” This is all bull crap. Do they really know meaning of these words or they just used because they are out there?
They all say that and then you have thousands of poor innocent citizens dying at hands of these so-called liberators. That’s what Doe said, so did Taylor, Kromah, Johnson, etc. I don’t think these warlords should be allowed to commit all manners of evil against the people of Liberia with no impunity; while they are rewarded with jobs. Some one has got to pay for all theirs deeds.
