The Environmental Protection Agency has confiscated and turned over an eagle to the Forestry Development Authority.

EPA Acting Executive Director told reporters the eagle was confiscated from a man at the Roberts International Airport while attempting to sell it.

Mr. Ben Karmo said it is prohibited under the law for such creature to be hunted.

Mr. Karmo said although the origin of the eagle was not known, it is believed to have been picked from a forest near Charlesville.

Receiving the eagle, an officer of the FDA Wildlife Division thanked the EPA for rescuing the bird.

Mr. Moses Beah said the eagle would be preserved and later released to the forest in the Sarpo National Park.
